“The prompt made me think of the saying that when you like someone, you get butterflies in your stomach. But for me, those butterflies have been my body's way of showing red flags, ones that I used to ignore. Because the feeling can be intoxicating, like a high you slowly become addicted to. I know now that the right person should not make your heart race with anxiety. I don’t want butterflies. For me, the butterflies have lost their color, and I am grateful for that.”
